"In medicine, golden hour is the period of time following a traumatic injury during which there is the highest likelihood that prompt medical and surgical treatment will prevent death.
This period of time has been a Golden Hour of sorts for every single one of us. We have bore witness to how people react in time of crisis, often bringing out their worst. The simplest of actions that could protect the masses are asking too much of people. Our leaders would rather watch people die than lose money. This collection has been my escape from the madness—my golden hour—how I’ve intervened in time of crisis to keep myself sane.
In nature, the golden hour is the short window of time during sunrise and sunset. It signifies the end of an old day, or the beginning of a new one. When the golden hour ends at sunset, we enter darkness. With this darkness, we experience fear, uncertainty, and the opportunity to rest in preparation for a new day. With the next golden hour, we feel the warmth of a new beginning, and we can either allow ourselves to bask in the sun or hide indoors.
This collection explores warmth, femininity, intimacy, and power. It was inspired by a series of photos that catalyzed drawings—which developed into the wearable art you see now. Thank you for allowing me to share my Golden Hour."
